Storage Room
Each building has at least one storage room for resident use. Every resident is provided with a key to access it. It houses storage lockers, credit card-operated washers and dryers, trash barrels, and gas and electric meters.
Please be a good neighbor and do not let the door to the storage room slam behind you.
Trash and Recycling
Trash
Every building has a storage room with trash barrels for the use of its residents. Trash placed in barrels is to be contained in closed trash bags. Trash is not to be left outside of the barrels. Please replace the barrel tops.
Trash is picked up by Baltimore City every Wednesday, excluding Holidays or inclement weather. Trash barrels are emptied by VMI Maintenance staff every Wednesday morning between 6:00 am and 7:00 am.
Residents may NOT use any dumpsters located on the commercial property.
Recycling
Residents are encouraged to participate in the single-stream recycling program offered by the City. On the day of recycle pickup, residents may place items in the designated recycling shed located at the back of the parking lot. This does not include oversized/bulk items, which can be removed for a fee by VMI Maintenance. Click here for information on how to contact VMI Maintenance.
Recycling is picked up by Baltimore City every Friday, excluding Holidays or inclement weather. Residents are responsible for bringing their recycling to the recycling shed on Thursdays or before 8:00 am on Friday morning. Recycling bins can be purchased through the City or at participating retailers. Please write your address in permanent market on the outside of the bin. Recycling bins will be returned to your building by VMI staff.
Laundry
Every building has a credit card operated washer and dryer for the use of its residents. Residents are responsible for reporting any issues with the machines to the vendor directly. Instruction on how to report issues are posted by the machines.
Parking
There is no assigned parking at Fallswood II. Residents are required to register their car at the Gatehouse at which time they will be provided with a sticker that is to be displayed at the bottom of the driver’s side windshield. If you own a car that is rarely used or if you will be leaving your car parked for an extended period of time, it is requested that you park your car in the back row of the lot, so as not to tie up spaces close to the buildings. It is also requested that you move your car to a different space every two months. Parking in front of the buildings must be head in parking only. Large SUVs and pickup trucks should be parked facing the center island.
The parking lots that surround the commercial areas in the Village of Cross Keys are owned and operated by VCK Realty. The lots are designated for customers and patrons that visit the Village’s offices and retail center. Most have a four-hour parking limit and none permit overnight parking. Residents must obtain permission to park on their lots if they are not customers or tenants. For more information, contact VCK Realty at 410-323-1000.
Entrances
The Village of Cross Keys’ main entrance is accessible 24 hours a day and the Gatehouse always has a security guard on duty. Between the hours of 10:00 pm and 6:00 am, access is restricted to the lane with a security gate. Individuals entering the property during these hours will be required to drive by the security guard. Residents with a parking sticker will be waved through. Residents and visitors without a sticker will be stopped by the security guard.
The Center Gate (located south of the main entrance) is open Monday to Saturday 6:30 am to 7:00 pm. Its primary use is for oversized and deliver vehicles, but it may be used by residents and visitors as well.
The South Gate is located on Hamill Road is open Monday to Friday from 6:20 am to 5:45 pm.
Security
Security of common areas is provided through the Village of Cross Keys. In addition to the guard posted at the Gatehouse, another guard patrols the property by car during the day and overnight hours, which includes driving through the parking lots.
Emergencies
If you have an emergency and need to call an ambulance, police, or fire department, please notify the Gatehouse immediately of the department that has been contacted. Click here for contact information about the Gatehouse.
Snow Removal
VMI is responsible for the removal of snow and salting of sidewalks, with the exclusion of cars parked in the lot. Individuals are responsible for digging out their own cars. Because of this, it is recommended that car owners have a snow shovel. Parking spaces will be plowed after the roads and parking lots have been completed. You might be asked to move your car at this time.
Pets
If you have a dog or cat that you walk on the grounds, it is your responsibility to pick up after your pet. Dog scoop dispensers are located at five locations in the Village: South Gate Exit on Hamill Road, South Hill near the bench, on the north end of the south swimming pool, two on Cross Keys Road (near Goodlow House and in Dunns Grove) and Hamlet Hill Road near Harper House. All pets must be registered at the Village Management office (see Rules and Regulations here).
Fees
Condo fees, which vary based on the square footage of the unit, cover common areas expenses, roof, parking lot, sidewalk, entrances, stairwells (front and rear), common lighting, Village Management Inc., and Cross Keys Maintenance Corporation fees, water and sewer, annual audit and general maintenance.
